4月29日晚，由香港地球之友和绿点青年环境教育中心（广州）联合仲恺环境科学与工程学院主办的「平步青云讲坛」第十二讲（2010）在仲恺农业工程学院学术报告厅隆重举行，此次活动在学校领导和相关企业的大力支持下，由仲恺农业工程学院Greensky环保协会和环境科学与工程学院学生会共同承办。                On the evening of April 29, the 12th session (2010) of the "Green Pathfinders Forum", as organized by the Friends of the Earth and Guangzhou Green Point Environmental Protection Information Center together with the School of Environmental Science and Engineering of Zhongkai University, was convened in the Academic Lecture Hall of the School of Agricultural Engineering of the university. The event was greatly supported by the university's leadership and related enterprises and was jointly undertaken by the Greensky Environmental Protection Association of the School of Agricultural Engineering and the Students' Union of the School of Environmental Science and Engineering. 

 

此次讲座邀请到国际联合水务集团公司中国地区行政总裁叶广涛先生作为本次讲座的特邀嘉宾。叶广涛先生毕业于国立台湾大学农业经济系，拥有香港理工大学理学研究硕士学位，并在环境政策、管理、技术、投资及服务方面具有15年以上的工作经验。由于叶广涛先生长期在国内的工作经验及和各部委的交流和项目合作，充分掌握了在中国营商的环境和技巧。

Mr. Plato Yip, CEO of Greater China of United Waters International AG, was invited as the special guest to the lecture. Mr. Yip graduated from the Department of Agricultural Economics of National Taiwan University and obtained his master degree of science in research from Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He has over 15 years of experience in the areas of environmental policies, management, technology, investment and services. Mr. Yip is much familiar with the environment and skills of business operation in China, thanks to his long-term working experience on the Mainland as well as his exchanges and project cooperation with different authorities.

 

本次讲座以座谈会的方式进行，主持人由国际和香港知名环保宣教专家、民间环保精英、香港地球之友理事、民间绿色播种人、社会活动毅行者、环保“花木兰”吴方笑薇女士担任。

Conducted in the manner of a forum, the lecture was hosted by Mrs. Mei Ng, an environmental advocate famous both internationally and in Hong Kong, a civil elite of environmental protection, Director of the Friends of the Earth, a civil green seeder, a social activity Trailwalker and a heroine in environmental protection.

 

吴方笑微女士在本次讲座的“实话实说”环节中以幽默的口吻对叶广涛先生进行现场访谈。访谈从叶先生的过去开始说起，对他的事业的选择、发展进行了简单的回顾，叶广涛先生讲述了他进入环保事业和金融行业以及后来进入水资源行业的艰辛历程。

Mrs. Ng conducted a live interview with Mr. Yip in a humorous manner during the lecture. The interview started from Mr. Yip's past and briefly reviewed his career choice and development. Mr. Yip talked about how he previously worked in the environmental protection and financial sectors before he continued his career in the industry of water resources.

 

随后，进入了本次讲座“实话实说”环节重点——“水循环”主题。吴方笑薇和叶广涛先生就水资源的发展前景进行了探讨，叶先生介绍，水资源较其他资源起步较晚，所以发展不是很健全，但是仍有较大的发展空间。目前我国仍有3亿人缺水，现阶段我国农村存在两种形式的缺水：水源性缺水和水质性缺水。叶先生对目前农村的现状进行了分析：在国内农村居住较分散，政府解决缺水问题投资较大，并且收益也不好。对此，叶先生提出企业、政府和农民三方联合的方案，达到三赢的局面。这种政企联合的机制既能解决这一问题，又能造福农村。叶先生还介绍，企业通过引进瑞士的净水技术，从生物技术上来说这是世界上最好的适合在人口不太密集的地方使用的产品。

After came the focus of the lecture: "water cycle". Mrs. Ng and Mr. Yip discussed the prospects for the development of water resources. According to Mr. Yip, people water resources was not paid much attention to until recently; therefore their development needs much improvement but the future is still promising. Currently there are 300 million people in China without adequate water. And two forms of water deficiency exist in the nation's rural areas, namely the deficiency of water resources and that of quality water. Mr. Yip analyzed the current situations in rural areas. As rural settlements are scattering in China, the government would have to make a huge investment to solve the problem of water shortage, often in an unprofitable manner as well. In that regard, Mr. Yip proposed a scheme to integrate the three parties of enterprises, the government and the farmers, so as to achieve a "win-win-win" situation. Such a joint mechanism between the government and enterprises can solve the said problem while benefit the rural areas as well. Mr. Yip also talked about the water purification technology that his company introduced from Swiss. He said that it is the best product in terms of biotechnology and is suitable for areas with less concentration of population.

 

现场观众也向叶广涛先生提出一些现实性的问题，其中一名同学想要在水资源方面进行创业，叶广涛先生给她提出了很多建设性建议，也提出了“在这方面创业很简单，只要两个字——循环。”吴方笑微女士也积极地为她出谋划策，鼓励该学生进行创新。

The audience also raised some practical questions to Mr. Yip. A student wanted to start her own business in the water resources sector, and Mr. Yip gave her a lot of positive suggestions. He then remarked that it is simple to start a venture in that area, only if she truly understands the word of "cycle". Mrs. Ng also offered her advice and encouraged the student to blaze a new path.

 

问答环节结束后，叶广涛先生现身说法，在现场举行了一场模拟面试，台下的观众都跃跃欲试，两名同学先后与叶先生进行了精彩的模拟面试。模拟面试结束后，叶广涛先生对面试者的表现进行了点评，他对大学生建议，面试前要做好充分的准备，要了解你要面试的公司，对自己的职业生涯要有一定的规划，对工作和薪酬的等方面也要做好准备，即使面试官问不到准备的问题，也要引导面试官到你想要讲的问题。

After the Q&A session, Mr. Yip conducted a mock interview. The audience was much enthusiastic to take part. Finally two lucky students were chosen for the excellent interview. Mr. Yip remarked on the performance of the two interviewees afterwards.

And here are some advice he offered to the students: Be well prepared before the interview; know the company; have some planning of your career; be prepared in terms of the work and the remunerations; and lead the interviewer to ask the questions you prefer to answer.

 

 

最后，吴方笑薇女士鼓励现场大学生说：“ I want to do better , I want to do more , I want to be the best , and I can do it.”叶广涛先生也对现场的大学生提出几个问题去思考：

 

Finally, Mrs. Ng encouraged the students to say together, "I want to do better, I want to do more, I want to be the best, and I can do it." And Mr. Yip also raised several questions for the students to think about:

 

1、定义人生的目标； How should I define the goals in life?

2、实现目标的途径； How can I realize those goals?

3、会面对什么困难； What are the possible difficulties I will face?

4、要有持之以恒的能力； Do I have the perseverance?

5、怎样有丰盛的人生。 How can I have a colorful life?
