“让我们携手前进，尽可能将自身活动对环境的影响减少到最低程度吧！”3月16日晚，江西农业大学科技报告厅不时传出阵阵掌声，主席台上，来自香港的环保人士吴方笑薇女士正在分享她有趣的环保经历。由香港地球之友、绿点青年环境教育中心、江西农业大学国土资源与环境学院团委联合主办，江西农业大学绿源协会承办的 “平步青云讲坛”2010第一讲在此隆重举行。

 

“Let’s work together to minimize the impact of our own activities on the environment!” In the evening of March 16, bursts of applause came out from the Science and Technology Report Hall of the Jiangxi Agricultural University from time to time. On the rostrum, Mrs. Mei Ng, an environmentalist from Hong Kong, was sharing her interesting experiences of environmental protection. The first lecture of the 2010 “Green Pathfinders Forum” co-organized by Friends of the Earth (HK), Green Point Environmental Protection Information Center and the Communist Youth League Committee, Institute of Land and Resources and the Environment, Jiangxi Agricultural University, and run by the Green Source Association, Jiangxi Agricultural University was held ceremoniously here.

  

 

江西省人大常委、省环资委副主任委员许苏卉女士，联合国全球500佳奖获得者、香港地球之友理事吴方笑薇女士，省环保厅自然生态保护处冀常和处长，省林业厅造林处张扬纯副处长，省水利厅水保处张荣锋副处长，团省委农村青年工作部曾小兵副部长作为特邀嘉宾参加讲坛。江西农业大学校党委书记石庆华教授亲临现场观看。校团委、国土学院负责同志、相关领域专家学者以及学生代表200余人参加了本次平步青云讲坛。

 

Ms. Xu Suhui, member of the Standing Committee of the People’s Congress of Jiangxi Province, and Vice Chairman, Provincial Environment and Resources Committee; Mrs. Mei Ng, winner of the United Nations' Global 500 Award and Director, Friends of the Earth (HK); Ji Changhe, Chief, Natural Ecology Protection Section, Provincial Environmental Protection Department; Zhang Yangchun, Deputy Chief, Forestation Section, Provincial Forestry Department; Zhang Rongfeng, Chief, Water and Soil Conservation Section, Provincial Water Resources Department; and Zeng Xiaobing, Deputy Head, Department of Rural Youth Work, Provincial Committee of the Communist Youth League, were present at the forum as special invited guests. Prof. Shi Qinghua, Secretary of the CPC Committee, Jiangxi Agricultural University, was present in person. Over 200 persons, including the persons responsible of the university’s Communist Youth League Committee and the Institute of Land and Resources and the Environment, experts from relevant fields, and students’ representatives, attended this Green Pathfinders Forum.

六位特邀嘉宾围绕各自亲身经历的关于水资源的故事、对水资源危机的理解、保护水资源的愿望与行动等话题分别发言。许苏卉结合自身工作经历，与大家分享了她在德国学习考察期间体验的节约水资源的实用措施，介绍了江西省多年来在保护水资源方面做出的许多工作。吴方笑薇女士则着重为师生们介绍了香港地区在20世纪60年代缺水时期的真实故事以及“地球之友”组织近年来在推动水资源保护方面所做的主要工作和体会。冀常和则列举了自身工作中遇到的水污染、保护水资源的生动事例，向师生们讲述了江西人民为保护水资源大力兴建水库、关闭污染工厂等工作。张扬纯、张荣锋两位干部则分别从自身的工作实际出发，介绍了江西为保护水资源，大兴植树造林之风、先后开展“消灭荒山”、“再造一个江西”、林业产权改革、“一大四小”等植树造林工程以及建立水土资源保持示范基地的工作。曾小兵则讲述了自己大学时代亲身经历的节约用水、爱惜水资源的真实故事，启发青年学生要养成好的节水习惯。6位嘉宾讲述真实、生动、风趣的讲述，赢得了师生们的阵阵掌声。

 

The six special invited guests give speeches based on their own experiences, including stories about water resources, understanding of the water crisis, and wishes and actions for water resources conservation. Ms. Xu Suhui shared the practical measures to conserve water resources that she experienced during her study and visit in Germany, and introduced many efforts made by the province in conserving water resources for many years. Mrs. Mei Ng told true stories that took place in Hong Kong during the water-depleted 1960s, and introduced the main efforts made by the “Friends of the Earth” organization in driving water resources conservation and its experience in recent years. Ji Changhe enumerated live examples of water pollution and water resources conservation encountered in his own career, and narrated how the Jiangxi people built reservoirs and closed down pollution-producing plants in order to conserve water resources. The two officials Zhang Yangchun and Zhang Rongfeng introduced Jiangxi’s forestation projects of “eliminating barren hills”, “creating another Jiangxi”, forest property right reform, and “One Big and Four Small”, and effort to build exemplary bases for water and soil conservation with a view to conserving water resources. Zeng Xiaobing told true stories of saving water and treasuring water resources experienced during his university age, inspiring young students to develop good water-saving habits. The credible, lively and interesting presentation of the six guests won much applause from the teachers and students present.

 

 

当晚，来自香港、广州、江西三地的与会代表还进行了同护东江水活动启动仪式。香港地球之友的吴方笑薇女士、绿点青年环境教育中心的李玮珊以及江西农业大学团的委书记邱晓辉同志，分别将代表三地的水共同注入了象征“同护东江水”的玻璃杯中。

 

That night, deputies from Hong Kong, Guangzhou and Jiangxi also held the starting ceremony of the campaign “conserving the Dongjiang River together”. Mrs. Mei Ng from Friends of the Earth (HK), Ms. Li Weishan from Green Point Environmental Protection Information Center and Mr. Qiu Xiaohui, Secretary of the Communist Youth league Committee, Jiangxi Agricultural University, injected water that represented the three locations into a glass that signified “conserving the Dongjiang River together” jointly.

 

最后，香港地球之友中国项目主任袁淑文女士在讲坛上宣布，该组织与绿源协会结成“东江伙伴”，共同保护东江源头。袁淑文现场邀请许苏卉女士和吴方笑薇女士分别将志愿者服装和“river parter”证书授予绿源协会。协会指导老师，国土学院党委副书记蔡海生博士代表协会接受了服装和证书。

 

At last, Mrs. Yuen Shuk-Man, Chinese Project Leader, Friends of the Earth (HK), announced at the forum that this organization and the Green Source Association became “Dongjiang River partners” to protect the source of the Dongjiang River together. Yuen Shuk-Man invited Ms. Xu Suhui and Mrs. Mei Ng to award the volunteer clothes and the “river partner” certificate to the Green Source Association respectively. Dr. Cai Haisheng, Mentor of the Association and Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee, Institute of Land and Resources and the Environment, accepted the clothes and the certificate on behalf of the Association.

 

参与活动的同学们纷纷表示，讲坛生动有趣，嘉宾们的讲解深入浅出，短短的2个小时让自己上了一堂深刻的保护水资源、爱护自然环境的环保课。

 

Students who participate in the event have said that the forum is lively and very interesting. Guests make their deep thoughts easy to understand, The short lesson of 2 hours ,for them, they had a profound protection of water resources and natural environment environmental lesson.
